Studies have shown that relaxation in the form of calming classical music can help patients with sleep disorders including insomnia and sleep apnea.

CPAP adherence can be improved by using relaxation music CDs and an instructional script. A prospective randomized controlled study showed a significant improvement in CPAP compliance in the first month of therapy.

Relaxation is recommended by the American Acaedy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) in the treatment guidelines for Insomnia. Let BlueSleep help you improve patient care in the most gentle and soothing manner.

BlueSleep’s existing "Music for Dreams" collection consists of carefully selected pieces for solo piano from thousands of works, spanning over three centuries of repertoire. As opposed to a live performance where the goal is to maintain the audience’s attention; "Music for Dreams" creates an atmosphere that helps the listener’s thoughts drift away.  The performance dynamic contrasts were de-emphasized and the microphones in the studio were positioned to make the powerful Steinway concert grand piano sound distant, soft, and dreamy.

The pieces were arranged in a very particular order, transitioning from the shorter and more lyrical ones to longer, more introspective, and highly meditative compositions. The key structure in the set was also meant to help prevent any excessive dissonant auditory stimulation. This technique was designed to create a natural fade-out, simulating closing eyelids and the slowing heartbeat of a person drifting off to sleep.

It takes an average of 10-20 minutes to fall asleep (the sleep onset latency time) from the time one lies down in bed at night. To account for the individual variations in sleep latency times, we made "Music for Dreams" a 45-minute collection. This allows most of the listeners to be sound asleep well before the end of the recording. Many of those who have already experienced "Music for Dreams" admit to dozing off after only a few tracks.
